DashDevs builds Fintech Core, a composable fintech platform that helps founders and licensed institutions launch banking, payments, cards, and digital asset products without starting from zero. Compliance is one of the first things any of these products need to get right. That’s why DashDevs partnered with Sumsub to make identity verification, business verification, and transaction monitoring a built-in part of the platform.

About Sumsub

Sumsub is a verification and compliance platform. Companies use it to:

  • Check who their users are
  • Screen users and businesses against sanctions and watchlists
  • Monitor transactions for risk
  • Stay compliant across different countries, from one system

It’s used across banking, payments, trading, and crypto by companies that need to onboard people quickly without cutting corners on compliance.

The Challenge

Most fintech products run into the same problem once they grow:

  • Verifying a new user takes too long
  • Every country has its own rules, so onboarding flows start to multiply
  • Compliance teams end up combining separate tools for identity checks, business verification, and transaction monitoring
  • Those separate tools rarely work well together

For platforms that touch both fiat and crypto, the problem gets bigger. A crypto wallet needs to know who a user is. It also needs to know where their funds are coming from and going to. Identity checks and transaction monitoring have to work together, not sit as two separate systems.

Why Sumsub?

DashDevs chose Sumsub as a core partner for its composable banking platform because it covers this whole range from one place:

CapabilityWhat it handles
KYCIdentity verification, document checks, liveness
KYBBusiness verification for corporate clients
KYTTransaction monitoring and risk screening
Compliance opsSanctions, watchlists, review workflows

Instead of asking clients to run one vendor for KYC and another for KYT, Fintech Core gives them a single workflow engine. Teams can configure it per market, per license, or per product line.

That matters most for the kind of products a composable platform is built for. KYC, KYB, and KYT need to connect to the same onboarding and compliance layer, not sit as separate integrations with their own webhook logic and review process. DashDevs built a dedicated Sumsub extension into Fintech Core so any client can activate this without a custom integration project.

Meet Kleos

Kleos is one of the clients running on this Fintech Core x Sumsub setup. The company set out to move away from a fintech app that depended on a single provider for everything. Their goal: a platform that could grow into banking, cards, FX, stablecoins, and tokenized investments over time.

To get there, Kleos needed a compliance layer that could scale with the product without slowing things down every time a new market or a new financial service got added. That’s exactly what the Sumsub extension inside Fintech Core was built to solve.

Kleos’ Challenge

Kleos needed to put identity verification directly on the app. Every fiat capability depended on it: the personal EUR IBAN, the virtual and physical cards, SEPA transfers, and additional crypto operations. None of it could go live until a user was verified.

On top of that, onboarding had to satisfy EU EMI and AML obligations across different countries and regions, not just one home market.

The Solution

Sumsub became the single identity and compliance layer across the entire Kleos features ecosystem.

Verification runs inside the Kleos app itself, through Sumsub’s mobile SDKs. The user starts onboarding, completes document capture and a liveness check, and stays inside Kleos the whole time.

Configurable verification levels handle proof of identity, including:

  • Passport
  • ID card
  • Driver’s license
  • Residence permit

Sanctions screening and ongoing monitoring run on top of that. Results come back over webhooks and move the customer straight through the lifecycle. Verified customers get their functionality unlocked automatically, with no manual step in between.

The Results

MetricResult
Verification completion rateUp from 68% to 88%
Verification time10 to 50 seconds for automated checks*
Straight-through (auto-approval) rate92%
Manual compliance review workloadReduced by roughly 70%
Final rejection rateAround 3%
Retriable rejections recoveredRoughly 55%
Country coverage185+ countries

Most identity checks are decided in seconds, not days. Only flagged or low-quality submissions go to extended review. The 92% straight-through rate lines up with Sumsub’s own 90%+ average pass rate, meaning nine in ten customers are approved with no human involved. That drop in manual review work means the compliance team spends its time on genuine edge cases and alerts, not routine document checks. Users who fail verification once and succeed on a second attempt are counted separately too: roughly 55% of retriable rejections get recovered instead of turning into a lost user.

On coverage, verification works for customers holding documents from 185+ countries, outside sanctioned and restricted jurisdictions. That means Kleos’ addressable market is set by its own licensing and compliance policy, not by what its identity provider can read. Opening a new market becomes a compliance and configuration decision, not a development cycle.

Future Plans

The Fintech Core x Sumsub partnership isn’t limited to Kleos. The same Sumsub extension works across every project built on the composable platform. Any new client can activate compliant onboarding and monitoring on day one instead of starting from scratch.

Kleos plans to add more products over time:

  • Yield
  • Tokenized investments
  • Additional stablecoin rails

The same Sumsub setup is built to grow with it. New markets can reuse the existing workflow engine instead of starting compliance from scratch, and new financial products can connect to the same KYC/KYT layer instead of needing a separate integration.
