Position overview

We are looking for a hands-on, product-oriented Project Manager to own the end-to-end delivery of mobile financial products (remittances, with expansion toward Banking-as-a-Service). This role is critical for a growing FinTech company with a small, flat team, where the PM works closely with the C-level and acts as a central coordination and execution role across product, engineering, delivery, and quality. This is not a classic “process-only” PM role. The ideal candidate combines project ownership, strong product thinking, and execution discipline, and is comfortable working in a dynamic, high-responsibility environment.

Only candidates located in Madrid (or willing to relocate) will be considered.

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • At least 3 years of experience in software project management, including both project delivery and work with product requirements
  • Strong experience managing mobile or web products, ideally consumer-facing
  • Product mindset: understands how users interact with technology
  • Proven ability to organize work in small, fast-moving teams
  • Comfortable working with incomplete requirements and ambiguity
  • High reliability, ownership, and personal accountability
  • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence
  • Willingness to go beyond a strict 9–5 mindset when needed
  • English - B2/C1

Skills that will be a plus:

  • Experience in FinTech, payments, remittances, or banking.
  • Hands-on experience with: testing, release coordination, early-stage product delivery.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development or testing processes.

Responsibilities

1.Product & Customer Understanding: -Deeply understand the product, target users, and customer journeys (end users & corporate clients); -Actively collect and synthesize input from customers, internal stakeholders, market and usage patterns; -Translate customer needs into clear, actionable requirements for the development team; -Track and manage features across releases.

2.End-to-End Delivery Ownership: -Own the full product lifecycle: planning, requirements clarification, development coordination, testing coordination, release & post release follow-up; -Ensure features are delivered on time, with expected quality and budget; -Organize work across a small engineering team (currently ~4 developers, with gradual growth).

3.Requirements & Execution Coordination: -Work closely with developers to clarify requirements and priorities; -Help structure and maintain: feature lists, release scope, implementation tracking; -Support QA activities: coordinate testing, personally participate in testing when needed (early-stage setup, no dedicated QA yet).

4.Process & Organization: -Establish lightweight but effective delivery processes; -Choose and adapt methodologies pragmatically (Scrum, Kanban, hybrid, etc); -Bring structure without bureaucracy; -Ensure visibility and transparency of work and priorities.

5.Stakeholder Communication: -Act as a primary communication bridge between: engineering, leadership, customers; -Report directly to the CEO/CTO; -Proactively raise risks, issues, and trade-offs; -Maintain trust through clarity, reliability, and follow-through.

6.Business & Quality Mindset: -Be exposed to business and financial context (KPIs, priorities); -Care deeply about product quality and user experience; -Support continuous improvement of delivery and product practices; -Adapt to a high-ownership, high-expectation FinTech environment.

**Before we consider you, please answer 3 questions:**

  1. 1)Tell me about the product you worked on the longest. What value did it bring to users?
  2. 2)What matters more to you as a Project Manager: process, product, or results — and why?
  3. 3)How deeply do you usually get involved in defining and clarifying requirements? Who do you see as responsible for “what exactly we build”?
