Position overview
We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer with over 5 years of experience to join our team, focusing on manual testing of system applications across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have good understanding of system commands, basic log debugging, and managing their own test environments. Experience with automation tools is a plus but not required.
Project description 1Kosmos provides a biometric-based identity verification and passwordless multi-factor authentication (MFA) platform built on a privacy-by-design, private distributed ledger. It creates a non-phishable MFA credential for employees and a passwordless option for customers to prevent fraud. All personally identifiable information (PII) is encrypted with public/private keys, with users solely controlling their private keys, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws. The platform integrates live biometrics, machine verification of IDs, a digital identity wallet, a private ledger, and reusable verified credentials. This approach secures identity verification for each access, balancing security with convenience.
Structure of the team You will be a part of QA team that is a part of Production department, you will have a direct line manager - QA Team Lead.

YOUR BACKGROUND
- 5+ years of experience in manual testing, particularly for system applications
- Strong familiarity with Windows, Linux and macOS operating systems
- Experience with Postman and Swagger for API testing
- Ability to interact with Windows services and run basic PowerShell/Command Prompt commands
- Familiarity with basic Linux commands
- Familiarity with virtual machines and their configuration
- Understanding of different SSL certificates, process of issuing and validation
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning new technologies
- English level - B1-B2
Skills that will be a plus:
- Basic understanding of Windows Server is a plus (e.g. Active directory)
- Test automation for desktop applications
- Performance testing experience
- PowerShell/Command Prompt scripting experience
Responsibilities
- Perform manual testing of desktop applications on Windows, Linux and macOS platforms
- Execute basic system commands and debug logs for testing purposes
- Interact with Windows services, run PowerShell/Command Prompt commands, and execute basic Linux commands
- Write test cases, execute test plans, and document results
- Collaborate with developers to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues
- Manage the QA environment independently and ensure proper configuration for testing
- Work with Postman and Swagger for testing APIs as needed
- Participate in scrum activities
- Enhance product knowledge base
- Take part in QA process improvements within a team
- Participate in verbal and written communication with the team
- (Optional) Contribute to the development of automated test scripts if skilled in automation tools
